Freshman forward Ed Mocarsky scored both goals Wednesday afternoon to propel The Rock (2-0) to a 2-1 win over visiting LaRoche College in non-conference action on James W. Egli Field.
Mocarsky's first goal, off an assist from David Flamer, came at the 32:05 mark in the first half and tied the score at 1-1.
His second goal came on an assist from freshman forward Justin Riggle at the 51:57 mark of the final half.
The goals were Mocarsky's second and third of the season.Riggle picked up his second assist.
Freshman goalie Pat Passewitz needed to make only one save to record his second win in as many collegiate games.
The Rock outshot LaRoche by a 17-2 margin.
SRU returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Pitt-Johnstown for a 2 p.m. match. Two days later, The Rock meets Bloomfield (N.J.) in a 2 p.m. Labor Day game in Johnstown.
