Savannah, Ga. - Junior designated hitter Maureen Brown and sophomore catcher Niki Banner had a single each to account for the only Rock offense in a 5-1 loss at Armstrong Atlantic State.

The loss was the second in as many Rock games this spring and second in as many games against Armstrong Atlantic on Saturday.

Rock starting pitcher freshman Courtney Conron was tagged with the loss after she allowed five earned runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. She struck out one and walked four in her first collegiate contest.

Shannon Tagliaferri pitched the final 1 1/3 innings.

The Rock takes on Division I Savannah State in a doubleheader on Sunday, the second day of the annual spring-break trip to the southern states.
