Rock falls, 58-43, at East Stroudsburg

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The Rock's four-game win streak came to an end Saturday afternoon as hosting East Stroudsburg handed SRU a 58-43 setback in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "crossover" action.

The loss dropped The Rock's record to 4-2 as it prepares for a Sunday afternoon PSAC crossover date at Mansfield.

Stacey Green scored 14 points to lead The Rock's scoring effort, while Amber McFeely added eight points, Kristen Bonner seven points and Jess Caso a game-high nine rebounds.

East Stroudsburg scored the first five points of the game and enjoyed an eight-point (14-6) lead with 9:14 left in the first half before The Rock put together a 14-5 run to take its only lead of the game, 21-20, with 2:10 left before halftime.

The hosts regained the lead at 22-20 just prior to intermission and never trailed in the final 20 minutes.

The Rock trailed by only three, 38-35, with 7:00 left to play before being outscored by a 20-5 margin in the final minutes.

Notes: Stacey Green moved into 11th place on SRU's career scoring list. She now has 1,110 points in her four-year collegiate career ... Green ranks third in career rebounding with 764 ... Erin Frankovich moved into ninth place on the career rebounding list with 538. She needs only three rebounds to take over eighth place ... Saturday's loss was the first in five games against East Stroudsburg for Rock head coach Laurel Heilman, who needs one win to move into third place on SRU's coaching victories list. Heilman has a 58-55 record in four-plus seasons as SRU's head coach and a 168-150 mark in 14 seasons as a collegiate head coach.
