Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Rock's quest for a second successive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference playoff championship ended Friday afternoon when visiting Indiana U. of Pa. handed SRU a 1-0 loss in semifinal action.

The loss dropped The Rock's overall record to 13-3-2.

Indiana, which improved to 18-3, will host Kutztown in the conference championship match on Sunday.

The Rock must now waits anxiously for Monday afternoon's announcement of the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional tournament field.

Four teams will receive berths to the regional tournament.

The Rock was ranked 10th nationally and second in the Northeast Region in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America polls, but was ranked fifth in last week's NCAA regional poll.

The Rock must finish in the top four in the NCAA regional poll to earn a second successive trip to regional competition.

SRU outshot Indiana by a 17-6 margin, but Indiana goalie Sarah Daw recorded 10 saves -- several of which came on point-blank shots -- en route to the shutout.

Rock goalie Karrine Riggins had two saves.
