Frankovich's double-double propels Rock past East Stroudsburg

Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Rock recorded its second win in as many nights, third in as many games and fourth in the last five outings when it rolled to a 62-47 win over East Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference interdivisional action Thursday night in Morrow Field House.

The Rock is now 5-5 overall as it prepares for a Monday game at Gannon University in Erie.

The star of the show Thursday was Rock junior center Erin Frankovich, who had game-high totals of 23 points and 13 rebounds for her first "double-double" of the season.

Sophomore shooting guard Kristen Bonner chipped in 14 points, junior forward Stacey Green had eight rebounds and sophomore point guard Amber McFeely handed out seven assists in the winning effort.

The Rock scored nine of the last 10 points in the first half to take a 30-22 lead into halftime before it put together a 19-10 run to take a 49-32 lead with nine minutes left to play.

The largest lead of the night for SRU was 21 points, a cushion on which The Rock rested on three occasions, the final one coming with 2:30 left in the game when SRU had a 62-41 advantage.
