Slippery Rock University Athletics

Marcus Martin had a big day to lead the defense for Slippery Rock in its loss at Shepherd University in the NCAA Division II Football Playoff quarterfinals. He put up the second most tackles for loss in a game in program history with 5.0 and recorded 2.5 sacks in the game to bring his season total to 15.5. The 2.5 sacks also give him 31.5 sacks for his career and leave him just a half-sack away from tying the all-time career record at SRU after just two seasons.  With two years of eligibility remaining, Martin is on a pace that would make him the all-time sack leader in NCAA history.
