LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - A total of 204 Slippery Rock University student-athletes were recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes for maintaining above a 3.25 grade point average during the 2017-18 academic year, the league office announced Monday.

133 females and 71 males represented The Rock on the list of 2017-18 PSAC Scholar-Athletes. Across the league, The Rock ranked sixth out of the 18 member institutions in total number of PSAC Scholar-Athletes and was third among the 14 members of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Of the 204 student-athletes honored Monday, 18 recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA. Additionally, nine of The Rock's programs maintained or improved its number of PSAC Scholar-Athletes from a year ago.

The conference as a whole set a new record with a total of 3,053 student-athletes from the 18 league members earning the honor, which is 42 percent of all student-athletes in the league. The total topped the previous record of 2,901 that was set last year and marks the 10th straight year that more than 30 percent of the total student-athlete population of the league has earned the honor.
