SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University senior men's basketball standout
Devin Taylor signed a professional contract Wednesday to play for the Etzella Ettelbruck Basketball Club in Luxembourg for the 2013-14 season.
Etzella Ettelbruck was founded in 1934 and competes in the Total League, the highest professional basketball league in Luxembourg. The league was formally known as the Diekirch League before a name change in 2012. Eztella Ettelbruck has won the league title 14 times, trailing only Sporting Bettembourg (16) for the most titles in league history.
Taylor, a 6-foot-6, 205 pound versatile forward from New Castle, Pa., finished his three-year Slippery Rock career this winter with 1,141 points and 750 rebounds. He averaged at least 11.8 points per game in all three years at The Rock and finished with career averages of 13.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

Kevin Reynolds. "This is an outstanding opportunity for Devin to go play in a top league overseas and this is a great day for Rock basketball."
Taylor led Slippery Rock to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship game twice during his three years and led The Rock to the NCAA Tournament on two occasions as well, most notably this winter when the team advanced to the second round.
Taylor was named to the first team All-PSAC Western Division team in each of his last two seasons at Slippery Rock and was named to All-Region honors by both the National Basketball Coaches Association and Daktronics as a senior.
Taylor was The Rock's leading scorer and rebounder with per-game averages of 14.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in his final season.
He ranked second in the PSAC and 12th nationally in rebounding. He also led the PSAC and ranked ninth nationally in double-doubles with 14 games in which he scored 10 or more points and grabbed 10 or more rebounds.
Taylor finished his three-year Rock career with 1,141 points and 750 rebounds, which rank as the 12th and 11th best marks, respectively, in Rock men's basketball history.
Behind Taylor's lead, The Rock had arguably its best three-year span of success as they recorded a 59-29 cumulative win-loss record, made two appearances in the NCAA tournament and claimed two PSAC runner-up honors.
He is scheduled to begin his professional career when Etzella Ettelbruck begins play for the 2013-14 season in August. The team featured three American players on its 2012-13 roster, including former PSAC standout Billy Arre from Lock Haven, Anthony Simpson from Kent State University and Chad Tomko from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
