2013 All-PSAC Women's Soccer Team
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's soccer standouts
Andrea Felix and
Lauren Impey were named to top honors and The Rock landed six players on the All-Conference team, as announced by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Wednesday.
Impey was named the PSAC Defensive Player of the Year and Felix was named the PSAC Freshman of the Year.
The Rock landed three athletes on the first team, two on the second team and one on the third team.
Dana O'Neill repeated as a first team selection at goalkeeper. She is joined on the first team by Impey on defense and
Allison Harbart at midfield.
Leslie Henny earned her second consecutive All-PSAC honor with a second team selection at midfield. She is joined on the second team by Felix at forward.
Freshman
Lynn Neef rounds out the All-PSAC selections with a place on the third team as a defender.
Impey, a senior from Northampton, England, earns her second All-PSAC honor and is the first Defensive Player of the Year for the conference after the PSAC instituted the award this season. She plays center back on a defense that has allowed just 10 goals in 18 games this season and has held opponents to just 57 shots on goal. In addition to her defensive efforts, Impey also has one game-winning goal and four assists this fall.
Felix, a freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio, was the PSAC leader in goal scoring for much of the fall before she played limited minutes in the final three regular season games. She currently leads the team and ranks third in the PSAC in scoring with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points.
O'Neill, a redshirt senior from Leonardtown, Md., was named by the league's head coaches as the top keeper in the PSAC for the second straight year. She has started in 15 games this season and has allowed just nine goals for a 0.61 goals against average. She has made 35 saves for a .795 save percentage and has posted five individual shutouts. O'Neill has also helped contribute to two combined shutouts and owns a record of 10-3-1 this season.
Harbart, a sophomore from North Royalton, Ohio, earns her first All-PSAC honor after starting all 18 games in the midfield this season and becoming a leader on the field. She has two goals and three assists on the year, but also helps to anchor the defensive unit and controls possession in the midfield for The Rock.
Henny, a junior from Lititz, Pa., earns her second All-PSAC honor after playing in all 18 games this season as a holding midfielder. She helps anchor the defensive unit and has also contributed to the scoring with one goal and one assist.
Neef, a freshman from West Bloomfield, Mich., has started all 18 games on defense for Slippery Rock so far this fall and has helped to anchor one of the top defensive units in the region.
Slippery Rock is ranked No. 15 in Division II and currently owns an overall record of 13-3-2 and awaits the NCAA Selection Show Monday night to determine its fate in the NCAA Tournament. The Rock has now put together 16 straight seasons with at least 10 wins and 18 consecutive winning seasons.
