Slippery Rock kept the pressure on at the start of the second half when VanDenburg scored in the first minute. The Rock found the net five times in the first 10 minutes of the half to put the game out of reach.

With wins in its first two games, Slippery Rock has opened the 2010 season with the best record since the 1989 team opened with three wins.

Since its first season of competition in 1976, Rock teams have opened the season with two wins just six times (1976, 83, 86, 88, 89, 2010).

The Rock will return home to open the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division schedule Wednesday when Indiana (Pa.) comes to town. First draw is set for 7 p.m. at Thompson Stadium.

Note:
Halls’ three goals, combined with her nine goals in Thursday’s win over Converse, bring her career tally to 69, moving her into fourth on the all-time ledger at SRU. Patty McPartland sits third with 76 goals.
