ERIE, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team falls 3-1 to Mercyhurst Friday night in Erie. The Rock is now 6-12 overall and 3-3 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. 

Mercyhurst won the first set, 26-24, but The Rock fought back to even the match with a 25-22 second set win. The Lakers, now 12-3 and 4-0 in the PSAC, won the final two sets 25-18, 25-21. 

Sophomore Kaylee Smith was the only Rock player in double digit kills with 19 and adding 13 digs. Juniors Kim Wilson and Anna Bixler combined for 38 assists and 25 digs in the match. Wilson also led the team with two aces. Senior Stacey Domer recorded 15 digs. 

The match was tight with Mercyhurst recording more kills, 49-47, and assists, 48-44. The Rock recorded more digs than the Lakers, 63-54. 

The Rock returns to action Friday to face Indiana (Pa.) at Morrow Field House. The match starts at 7 pm.
