MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men’s cross country team placed seventh at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships Saturday in Mansfield.

Matt Grey each earned All-Region honors to lead The Rock effort.
Shippensburg shocked the field to win the team title with a score of 39 points. Edinboro placed second with 56 points and Lock Haven, which won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title, placed third with 62 points. The Rock was seventh with 233 points. Shippensburg and Edinboro will represent the region at the NCAA National Championships.
Ulrich and Grey were each awarded with All-Region honors by way of their top-15 finishes. Ulrich led the way with a 10th-place finish, covering the 10,000-meter Lamb’s Creek course in 32:05. Grey followed closely in 14th-place with a time of 32:13.
Eric Geddis was the third Rock finisher, crossing the line in 55th-place in a time of 34:16.
Jason Leonard placed 72nd in a time of 34:49 and
Rogers Clements rounded out the scorers with an 82nd-place finish in a time of 35:14.
Saturday’s Regional Championships was the final meet of the season for The Rock.
