SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's soccer player Dana Kiger was named to third team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors as voted on and released by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday evening.

In order to be eligible for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must possess a minimum grade point average of 3.30 and have significant athletic credentials.

Kiger, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, earns her first Academic All-District honor as a defender.

A standout defender for The Rock, Kiger has twice been named to All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division honors for her athletic ability.

Kiger has started every game of her collegiate career and has helped anchor a Rock defense this season that has allowed just 14 goals in 17 games.

Kiger has earned Scholar-Athlete honors from the PSAC in each of her first two seasons at Slippery Rock and is enrolled in the exercise science program at SRU.

Slippery Rock will close the regular season with a 2:30 p.m. conference match this Saturday when Gannon travels to Thompson Stadium.
