STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Due to snow covering the course and continuing inclement weather, Friday's National Cross Country Invite at Penn State has been moved to nearby Lock Haven University
Word came from Penn State officials Friday morning that the snow covering the course and the continuing weather would make the race unsafe for its participants, forcing the cancelation of one of the biggest and most talent-laden invitationals in the region.
Since many programs need to compete in a meet this week in order to be eligible for conference and regional championships, the decision was made to run the meet at nearby Lock Haven University, with all teams scheduled to participate at PSU being invited to race at LHU.
The official start times for today's races have been set at 2:00 and 2:45 p.m., with the women's race going off first, followed by the men's race.
A recap and results of Slippery Rock's performances at the meet will be posted online at www.RockAthletics.com following the conclusion of the meet.
