Lauren Surbaugh recorded 16 saves Friday night, but the quartet's efforts weren't enough to lead The Rock to its first win of the 2008 season.
Hosting Washington & Jefferson College scored two last-period goals to record a 9-7 win and hand SRU its fourth loss of the season.
Sander also had three steals and one assist, while Walbright had one assist and one steal and Surbaugh recorded two saves.
Betsy Wilson scored the other Rock goal and had two assists and two steals, while
Megan Jo Ramage had one assist and one save.
The Rock returns to action at 2 p.m. Saturday, when it host 12th-ranked Michigan in the Morrow Field House pool.
SRU concludes a string of three Collegiate Water Polo Association Western Division games in as many days with a 5 p.m. contest Sunday at Gannon.
