Tom Beck (1954) was a member of the Slippery Rock University Basketball team from 1950-54.
Beck was one of the leading rebounders in the nation during his junior (15.2 per game) and senior (15.0 per game) seasons at The Rock. He averaged 11.2 rebounds over his four-year career at Slippery Rock. Beck also set the school record by grabbing 28 rebounds in a game during the 1952-53 season.
Beck also averaged 11.2 points per game over his four years, finishing with a career high average of 16.5 (second on the team) during his senior season.
Beck went on to spend 22 years coaching basketball at the collegiate level, spending the last five at Indiana (Pa), where he took four teams to the PSAC-West playoffs.
