Shirley Comstock (1940) received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from SRU. As an undergraduate, she participated in basketball, field hockey, swimming, gymnastics and rifle and was a four-year cheerleader. She was a recipient of the 1976 Presidential Plaque for her service to the institution by the SRU Alumni Association.
