Robert W. Hannan (1961) served two seasons as team captain of The Rock's wrestling team and also played on The Rock baseball team. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1993.

In 1988, Hannan received SRU's Outstanding Alumni Award. He is also a former board member of the Slippery Rock Foundation, Inc.
