Laurie Flynn Cortazzo "is the most accomplished volleyball player in the history of Slippery Rock University," in the words of longtime Rock Head Coach Laurie Lokash.

A 1995 cum laude graduate of SRU, Flynn Cortazzo led The Rock to the 1993 PSAC championship and earned PSAC "Player of the Year" honors in 1993 and 1994. She also earned three first-team All-Atlantic Region honors and was a first-team All-PSAC-West selection in all four of her collegiate seasons.

A 1996 inductee into the Baldwin High School Hall of Fame, Flynn Cortazzo is currently a licensed clinical social worker in the Shaler Area School District. She and her husband, Anthony Cortazzo, are the parents of two sons.
