Jana Sipes Porter (1986) is recognized as perhaps the most versatile "field" athlete in SRU track and field history. She was an All-America selection in both the heptathlon and the javelin. She was a two-time field MVP at the PSAC meet and was the first athlete to ever win four events at the state meet. She qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in the heptathlon.
After graduating from SRU, Porter continued her career in track and field. She competed in the National Masters Track meet, where she was the national champ (30-35 age group) three times.
Porter also served as an assistant track coach at the University of Washington before becoming the athletic director at Holy Named Academy, where she spent many years.
Porter has also been inducted into the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame.
