Ed McFarlane (1962) was one of the greatest men’s basketball players in SRU history. During his four-year career, McFarlane recorded averages of 19.3 points per game, .544% shooting from the field, and 13.2 rebounds per game. He recorded a career high 24.2 points per game and .617% shooting in his junior season, and a career high 15.4 rebounds per game in his sophomore season. He led The Rock in scoring in three seasons and in rebounding four seasons.
McFarlane is SRU’s all-time leading rebounder with 964 boards. He also holds the school record for points in a game with 52. McFarlane was the second player in school history to score over 1,000 career points, finishing with 1,583.
