Denny Douds (1963) played right guard and nose tackle for the Slippery Rock University football team. He earned All-Conference, All-State, and NAIA All-America honors. Douds was also co-captain of the 1962 state championship team and was named The Rock’s outstanding senior athlete in 1962-63.

Douds then went on to be the assistant football coach at McDowell High School, West Virginia University (Freshman team), and East Stroudsburg University. Douds then took over as the head coach of East Stroudsburg in 1974. To this point, he has compiled a record of 256-181-3 as their head coach, and also led two undefeated teams.
