Connie Palumbo (1957) earned 11 varsity letters in five different sports and received SRU’s Outstanding Senior Award. He was a track standout and also participated in soccer, golf, and football; but where he excelled most was on the basketball court.

Palumbo was a double-double machine, averaging 20.3 points and 12.4 rebounds per game during his time at The Rock (these numbers exclude his junior season because stats were not available). He recorded an astounding 24.4 points and 17.6 rebounds per game in his senior season and was a Little All-America selection. At the time, his 24.4 points per game scoring average was the highest in school history. He is one of The Rock’s all-time leading men’s basketball scorers and rebounders with 1,227 career points and 902 career rebounds.
