NEW ORLEANS -- A dozen Rock female track and field student-athletes were recently named to All-Academic honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In the process, The Rock shared with Grand Valley State (Mich.) the distinction of having the most student-athletes honored.
Representing the reigning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor team champion teams on the prestigious list were:
Nicole Blaesser, a graduate student and distance runner from Oxford (Oxford Area HS)
Crystal Burnick, a frdshman distance runner from Collegeville (Methacton HS)
Emily Bush, a senior sprinter from Palmyra, NY (Palmyra Macedon HS)
Lacey Cochran, a junior sprinter from Freeport (Freeport HS)
Jennifer Hansen, a junior All-America pole vaulter from Charleton, WV (Capital HS)
Jen Harpp, a sophomore distance runner from Highland Heights, OH (Mayfield HS)
Abby McKissick, a senior pole vaulter from New Wilmington (Wilmington HS)
Jessica Sackin, a sophomore hurdler from Bessemer (Mohawk HS)
Amanda Seigworth, a freshman hurdler from Craneville (Northwestern HS)
Allison Smith, a freshman hurdler from Aliquippa (Hopewell HS)
Tiffany Tedesco, a freshman sprinter from PIttsburgh (Plum HS)
Raissa Weiss, a senior distance runnerfrom North Huntingdon (Norwin HS)
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and have met the NCAA Division II indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their event.
