Rock quintet earns USTFCCCA All-Academic honors

Representing The Rock were Nate Hardic, Pat Reagan, MIke Rose, Jimmy Schneider and Jeff Weiss

NEW ORLEANS -- Five members of The Rock men's track and field program recently earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Rock's representatives on the prestigious team included junior javelin thrower Nate Hardic (Turbotville/Warrior Run HS), junior distance runner Pat Reagan (Masontown/Albert Gallatin HS), junior multi-event student-athlete Mike Rose (Houston/Chartiers Houston HS), junior pole vaulter Jimmy Schneider (New Wilmington/Wilmington HS) and junior All-America distance runner Jeff Weiss (Avella/McGuffey HS).

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 GPA and had met the NCAA Division II indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional standard in his event.

The All-Academic Team honors came in the wake of The Rock men's program's sweep of  the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor team titles in the 2007-08 academic year.
