NEW ORLEANS -- Five members of The Rock men's track and field program recently earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Rock's representatives on the prestigious team included junior javelin thrower
Nate Hardic (Turbotville/Warrior Run HS), junior distance runner
Pat Reagan (Masontown/Albert Gallatin HS), junior multi-event student-athlete
Mike Rose (Houston/Chartiers Houston HS), junior pole vaulter
Jimmy Schneider (New Wilmington/Wilmington HS) and junior All-America distance runner
Jeff Weiss (Avella/McGuffey HS).
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 GPA and had met the NCAA Division II indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional standard in his event.
The All-Academic Team honors came in the wake of The Rock men's program's sweep of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor team titles in the 2007-08 academic year.
